Who we are
Sabela FM is a rural formatted community radio station broadcasting from the Mhlontlo Municipality. The station is programmed with a variety of content, along with infotainment, music, news and sport.
Sabela FM is dedicated and planning to serve the community with ethical and outstanding content.
The station is owned by a non-profit organization which was founded by a group of young enthusiastic adults who saw community radio as a perfect tool to bring positive change and fight social ills in the community.
Our objectives are:-
To develop and produce quality and ethical radio content that will provide rural community members with useful, enjoyable and entertaining programming.
To serve as a channel for the communication and dissemination of information relevant to both the community’s and the individual’s needs and desires
Promote and provide variety in programming so that everyone finds something of interest at all times and to schedule programs as fairly as possible with preference given to programs that are both innovative and locally produced
Actively encourage participation and experimentation in the activities of the radio station by community members, including individuals in such special groups as people with disabilities, the aged, and the unemployed.
To be a viable, credible alternative to the public broadcaster for rural communities throughout the Northern areas of the Eastern Cape.
